The Secret People is a 1952 British drama film directed by Thorold Dickinson and starring Valentina Cortese, Audrey Hepburn and Serge Reggiani. Hepburn's appearance was her first major starring role in a film (just prior to her discovery by Hollywood for Roman Holiday). In this suspenseful film, Hepburn plays a ballerina, making use of her extensive training. The film starred Valentina Cortese as a woman who witnesses the accidental murder of a bystander by a group of assassins.
